Our commitment
StepInside targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA on every public page: property pages, 3D tours, shares, 360 videos and photos, panoramic images, videos, documents, and the pages around them.
What this means for you
- Every control works with the keyboard alone.
- Every control has a name a screen reader can read.
- Every 3D tour has a “Text and photo view,” reached from the tour's controls, that lists the tour's rooms, dimensions, capacities, setups, and photos in words.
- 360 videos, 360 photos, and panoramic images have look-around controls and can be looked around with the arrow keys.
- Motion respects your system's reduced-motion setting.
- Videos with speech have captions (none of the videos on the platform contain speech today), and every video has a text description.
- Text contrast and the size of controls meet the standard.
The 3D viewer
The tour canvas is Matterport's viewer. Matterport publishes its own conformance report for it: a VPAT 2.3, from June 2024, covering WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 at levels A and AA, tested by User1st with JAWS and the keyboard. That report's table does not evaluate the criteria WCAG 2.2 added for focus hidden behind fixed bars, dragging, and target size (2.4.11, 2.5.7, and 2.5.8). You can read it at matterport.com/accessibility.
Where that report is silent, StepInside provides its own alternatives: the Text and photo view gives every tour in words, and the 360 videos, 360 photos and panoramic images have look-around controls that work with a single tap and with the arrow keys.
Known limitations
- Client-supplied PDF documents are shown as they were provided to us; the original file is always offered alongside the on-page viewer.
- Alt text for photos is written by each property's staff and improves as they complete it. Until a photo has alt text, it is described by its collection and its position in that collection.
- The staff tools, the admin area and the Event Builder, are outside this statement.
Conformance status
This statement was last reviewed on October 6, 2026. An independent audit of the player is planned; the Accessibility Conformance Report will be available on request when it is complete.

Standards and testing
We work to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Every change runs through automated scans (axe-core) and our own keyboard pass, and goes through screen reader passes with VoiceOver and NVDA. An independent audit of the player is described above.
